Download here our new data sheet from WISA-Form Birch
WISA-Form Birch is coated with a smooth and wear resistant phenolic film. Panels are used for concrete formwork. Standard colour is dark brown.
The product can be supplied also in special colours, for example light brown, black, green and opaque yellow. Our plywood suppliers do not recommend special colours for concrete formwork. Special colours are more suited to interior decoration in buildings. One of the most common uses for these products are the interior lining of delivery vans.
The WISA-Form product family consists of many different products developed for specific end uses. Please see also WISA-Form Spruce and WISA-Form Super.

Properties of panel surface
The values are approximate and meant for guidance when choosing the film thickness.
Taber abrasion DIN 53799:
- Coating 120 g/m2 300 rev’s
- Coating 220 g/m2 600 rev’s
- Improved water resistance through coating.
- The coating is resistant to weak alkalis.
- Direct exposure to sunlight may accelerate the ageing and colour alterations of the surface.
- The coating thickness must be chosen according to the designed concrete quality, number of reuses and casting conditions.

Moisture content 27%
The design tables have been drawn up for average casting needs of 20-30 reuses. If the panels are used for a long period with repeated castings at short intervals or if the conditions are otherwise difficult, the load values need to be reduced by 20-30%. The users are advised to consult the supplier before the final design of the forms.
Installation instructions
- Cover the panels to protect them from direct sunshine and rain.
- Seal the cut edges and machinings made at site with paint suitable for exterior use.
- Use good quality form oil.
- Seal screw holes with silicone to reduce moisture absorption.
- Clean the panels carefully after every use.
- Handle panels with care to get maximum reuses possible.
Additional information
For further information of installation, maintenance, disposal, environmental matters etc. please contact your supplier or UPM.
Amendment of specifications
The UPM policy is one of continuous development. We reserve the right to amend specifications without notice or obligation.
Liabilities
Any defects other than caused by clearly verified production or service faults by the supplier are the responsibility of the user. Any claim for compensation is limited to the value of the defected panels.
